Abstract

Artistic residencies are a form of production and exchange of knowledge in contemporary art worldwide. In this work, we aim to investigate the Artistic Residency (R)Existo, from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), based on dissident contemporary artistic productions, differences in bodies and deviant sexualities, which oppose normative social standards. The residency consists of a participatory research and intervention research project, developed with support from PIBIC/UFPB/CNPq, created and coordinated by Dr. Robson Xavier da Costa, linked to the Research Group on Art, Museums and Inclusion (AMI/UFPB/CNPq), of the Department of Visual Arts, at UFPB. We worked with a group of dissident artists from the perspective of intersectionality in Patrícia Hill Collins and Selma Bilge (2020), and of Queer gender in Judith Butler (2018). The research has enabled intergenerational encounters and promoted multiple perspectives on LGBTQIAPN+, feminist, black, indigenous, DEFs, etc. visual arts, addressing multiple perspectives and decolonial intersectionalities, which are reflected in the group's individual and/or collective production.
