Limites teóricos nas relações entre sexo e gênero
implicações para o movimento LGBTQIAPN+
Keywords:
Feminismo Cis: Sexo; Gênero; Movimento LGBTQIAPN+Abstract
The present work results from reflections developed in the elective course Special Topics in Research: Social Relations of Class, Race, Ethnicity, Sex and Gender, linked to the Graduate Program in Social Work at the Federal University of Pará. The course brought together master's and doctoral students and other participants. From the methodological point of view, the work is based on bibliographic references, based on reflections and discussions developed in the classroom. In this sense, the text proposes reflections motivated by questions that arose during the classes, especially with regard to the relationship between sex and gender. This theme stands out for raising theoretical and political tensions, especially when articulated with discussions involving the LGBTQIAPN+ community. Although the scope of the discipline is broader, it is in this context that the analyses presented are concentrated. Finally, the work dialogues with contributions from feminist researchers who discuss the centrality of the category sex, patriarchy, compulsory heterosexuality, gender roles and forms of oppression experienced by cis women, with emphasis on the work of Heleieth Iara B. Saffioti and Jules Falquet, among other relevant references for the debate. In this way, the categories sex and gender appear as deeply intertwined, although not free of tensions. It is precisely at this point that the problematization of this work is located: to think about these categories in relation to the LGBTQIAPN+ community, especially with regard to the experiences and claims of the trans movement. So that LGBTQIAPN+phobic discourses are not reinforced in the name of theories.
